DVD/Premium Content Needed

xLive boasts a fully featured Mobile site designed for the iPod touch and iPhone.

xLive is growing fairly well right now, and with over 57,000 members we are able to see patterns in content selection by those users. As it turns out the most in demand genre of content right now is Gay Premium DVD content.

For those who do not know, xLive Members can purchase a monthly subscription to premium DVD content rather than spending on each DVD individually. This eliminates the need for any themed currencies or topping up accounts and allows the users to just watch whatever they want, when they want. The goal is to meet them where their needs are, and right now their needs appear to be lacking in terms of broad-range DVD selection.

At the same time, the straight market continues to grow as well, so I am by no means ignoring any particular genre.

Having said that, if you're a producer or distributor of content, please let me know and we can get started on making your content available to our growing membership.

Thanks

Steve Jobs Doesn’t Want a Porn Store

While browsing the net on my iPhone I ran into an article on TechCrunch that was centered around Steve Jobs' comment as to why Apple doesn't want to allow unsigned apps onto the iPhone. For clarity, an unsigned app simply means an app that was not acquired via the app store, and therefore not Apple-approved.

All too often I see this happening.

The comments at the end of the article are what got me involved. There was the usual Church of Apple followers, the Apple Bashers, those who demand more from manufacturers and then - this is what got me - those who were pushing the point of view that says shut up and take it. Acquiescence is a horribly dangerous mindset, in my opinion.

Here's the Link: http://techcrunch.com/2010/04/08/steve-jobs-on-why-the-iphone-doesnt-allow-unsigned-apps-they-dont-want-a-porn-store/comment-page-2/

I have a few thoughts surrounding this topic, so I commented. Here's my comment:

Sorry, I Work in Porn – We Can’t Be Friends

For those of us who work in the adult entertainment industry it can be hard to meet people outside of the industry, unless we keep our occupational details to ourselves until the person has gotten to know us better. It's not often that I run into people who can understand that my job is a job and not much more than that. The media demonizes the adult industry and sexual acts yet at the same time throws sex in our faces every chance it gets. It makes me wonder why people aren't running to adult industry professionals for a fix of some kind after the mainstream media has gotten them all excited.

If you listen to most rap music lyrics you will find that it's a verbal rendition of porn videos. Rock music doesn't get away scott-free either, but rap is much more prone to it. I'm a rap fan so I am not some pompous white kid talkin out my ass either. I am not writing about the sexualization of society by the media - I could, but not right now. Just jump onto youtube and type sexy commercials to get started.

Response to Betty Dodson’s blog entry, “My Latest Thoughts on Porn”

Let me open my response to Betty Dodson's blog entry, "My Latest Thoughts on Porn" (http://dodsonandross.com/sexfeature/my-latest-thoughts-porn) by saying that I am a man who has been working in the online adult business since 2001. I think I know a little about porn, from a man's perspective.

The women in professional porn are not real in terms of appearance and mentality. Women do not look like that naturally and they certainly do not act like that in reality either. It is important to understand, as Betty said, that porn is fantasy. It is created by men, for men. It is composed of men's ideas and interests, filmed at the sexpense of the actresses willing to do these things for the money tabled.

Email From a Father...

Today someone reported their daughter to me for being on the adult website I work with. This is the first time I have received such an email. The first time a parent contacted me was when I worked at XTube - a father found his son, who he learned at that very moment, was Gay. Things like that happened a few times while there but nothing since. Usually it’s a morally correct person reporting suspected minors. Here is their message and my response:

INCOMING EMAIL:
I want these photos removed, this is my daughter, she is only 15 years old. These photos should not even be on here. Please remove them.
