Voting for Child Porn
I was strolling through GFY (an industry board - if you don't know it then you're not in the industry) the other day when I ran into a thread where someone was asking for input on their new site. I looked and wasn't impressed. Not because the site was poorly done but because the content appeared to be composed of minors. Now, consider that I know the game. So for me to think that these girls are under age is no vote of confidence for your site, however if that's your target I suppose he nailed it. Which was the case because the website was feeding the 18 market. In his defense he hasn't done anything wrong - the content came from sponsors who all have the proper 2257's needed.
Still, I commented on the thread:
"I don't like to see children when I hit a porn site.
That's just me though."
I was simply voicing my opinion on the appearance of the content, and not stating that the content was in face children. Had I honestly believed the content WAS children I would have taken every step I could think of to make sure the site went offline.

So here's the talking point that smooths this over and gives everyone that feel good feeling:
"The federal government is cracking down on online child pornography with new legislation that imposes stiff fines or jail time for internet service providers that fail to report illicit material involving minors."
From experience, I can say that this is a waste of time, and an insult to anyone even remotely close to this. When I was working at XTube I ran into more child porn than I care to remember, and I certainly did not just sit on it and hope nothing would happen. I reported it. Would you like to know what reporting it got me? Reporting it got me nothing. Nothing accomplished. Nothing. Even after I had established lines of communication with law enforcement.
In fact, it was so worthless to report to them that I began to wonder if they were involved in the whole child porn business. It made me so damn angry - Correction - it STILL makes me so damn angry! I asked our lawyer what he thought of the situation - me reporting all of these violations against humanity - and he said something I hadn't even considered. He said that they're not responding to you because they're possibly building a case against you.

Email From a Father...
Today someone reported their daughter to me for being on the adult website I work with. This is the first time I have received such an email. The first time a parent contacted me was when I worked at XTube - a father found his son, who he learned at that very moment, was Gay. Things like that happened a few times while there but nothing since. Usually it’s a morally correct person reporting suspected minors. Here is their message and my response:
INCOMING EMAIL:
I want these photos removed, this is my daughter, she is only 15 years old. These photos should not even be on here. Please remove them.
